    • August Board Meeting

      Meeting called to order by Dan Henson. At the event on Monday August 18th there were 2 teams from Simmons Foods. Simmons Team members ask what our needs are to get us to serving every week.

      Minutes from June approval motion by Robin Cowin, second by Renae Sasnett.

      Copy of financial report complied by Susan Campbell, for the NWA Food Bank application, was given to all present.

      NWA Food Bank paperwork mailed in, last week, for the FMS2 Food Pantry approval. Waiting on approval. Dan talked with Serfco about pest control program for the food pantry.

      Simmons Wing Challenge was a great success and $1500 check will be coming within 2 weeks.

      Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center meal. Dan and Kathy took the mobile kitchen to Jay (thank you Sam Campbell for the use of your truck) to serve at the 20 year celebration.

      Pantry update: shelves are finished in both back rooms. We are ready to start moving freezers and seeing where we can put shelves in the front room. Ready to start ordering stock but would like to see what NEA food bank can provide first.

      We talked about a power point for presentations for corporate sponsorships. Renae volunteered to go over what we have currently and make any improvements necessary. Renae made a motion to start presenting to businesses and Kathy seconded.

      New menu plans: it was decided to sit down with a couple board members and sketch out menu plans so we can start cooking and freezing the meats necessary. A separate list of all will be sent later to all Board Members.

      Round table: Conversation during the Hot Wing Challenge, Simmons Team Members were interested in how the culinary group from Simmons could be more active with our ministry. Renae volunteered to check into what they would be able to do.

      Dan asked if we could check with Dustin’s Dream about actually bringing a Feed My Sheep Squared team to serve at Dustin’s Heavenly Birthday.

      Motion made by Renae to adjourn meeting at 6:45 pm. Kathy seconded. Meeting adjourned.

    • July Board Meeting

      Dr. Robin Cowin opened the meeting with prayer.

      Approval of March 27,2025 minutes motion by Susan Campbell/ second by Robin Cowin

      Lighthouse Pregnancy resource Center (Lori Hada) has requested us to pull the mobile kitchen to Jay and serve at their celebration. Robin made motion to go/ Lisa second. It is August 16th 2025. They will provide food. FMS2 has plenty of mustard and ketchup packets to provide.

      Pantry update: Baxter Painting and Sherwin Williams providing paint and labor to get it painted. Flooring was placed last week. Non profit to pay for shelving agreed by everyone. Michael Mouser contacted to do labor.

      Ok to do tax deductible receipts to Henson’s for “rental” on building and difference on electrical and water.

      Future serving events: Henson’s and Sam Campbell will be out of town July 28th. Henson’s will prep pulled pork prior to leaving town town to help with Amedee’s providing the meal. Campbell’s will donate beef and do tacos on September 8th.

      Meal for July 14th will be chicken wings, corn and green beans.

      VSC quote- Sam will work on a discount if none available we will get competitive quote.

      Simmons fundraiser originally scheduled for July 29th. Robin will work on that. We found out yesterday that it has been rescheduled for August 5th. Any money collected will be donated to FMS2.

      Little Debbie donated 52 cases of product.

      Renae Sasnett was voted on by everyone to be a board member.

      Dan suggested that we try to be a part of the widows ministry at Family Church of Siloam. It includes widows from all over. Usually a potluck, but FMS2 board members felt that we should provide entire meal. More info to come.

      Susan will order business cards for Robin, Lisa and Renae.

    • One Year!

      Last week, a year ago, Feed My Sheep Squared was serving at 7 Hills Homeless Shelter. We were cooking on propane burners and a Black Stone flattop. God has brought us so far!! Last week, this year, we were serving out of our new mobile kitchen. God is so good! God answers bold prayers!!!

    • Spring Creek Food Hub Tour

      Dan and Kathy Henson met with Lauren Zoghlin, with Spring Creek Food Hub. Lauren gave us a tour and explained how all of the produce is from Arkansas Farmers. We discussed opportunities where Spring Creek Food Hub could supply fresh Arkansas grown produce to the Feed My Sheep Squared events.

      Dan & Kathy Henson traveled to Deerfield Beach, Florida, to perform the final walk through of FMS²’s Mobile Kitchen. Concession Nation has built us a high quality and efficient mobile kitchen

      Minutes of the prior meeting were approved.

      CFO, Susan Campbell gave the financial report.

      The Board voted unanimously to approve the financing of the unpaid balance for the Mobile Kitchen.

      Dan & Kathy Henson offered to donate the cost of the trip to perform the final inspection of the trailer.

      Report out was given on making a presentation at the February Kiwanis Meeting in Siloam Springs.

      Report was given on the meeting with Clark Adkins with First Christian Church of Siloam.

      Report was given on the meeting with State Representative Tyler Dees.

      Discussed the scheduled presentation to the Western Benton County Partnership to be made February 14.

      Chef Bill Medley completed another section of Food Safety Training with the Board. Discussion on offering Food Safety training to volunteers in the future. Reported on serving dinner three different times at Siloam Springs Emergency Shelter.

      Feed My Sheep Squared has made a down payment on a Mobile Kitchen!!!

      The down payment equals 64% of the total amount needed, the other 24% is in faith.

      If you are looking for an opportunity for an end of the year donation, please consider Feed My Sheep Squared.

      This Mobile Kitchen will enable us to move forward with our strategies to:

      • Fight food insecurity; To serve meals more than every other week.
      • Disaster Relief; To fight food insecurity during disasters.
      • To assist local Emergency Services; To bring food and water to emergency workers during extended emergencies.
      • Volunteer Mentoring; Provide volunteer opportunities in food preparation, serving and Team Building experiences.

    • God Is Moving... Join Us!

      God is moving in Siloam Springs! Word of Life Ministries has opened their Church to Feed My Sheep Squared to serve free meals every other Monday, at Monday Meals. Another local nonprofit, Dustin’s Dream, has joined FMS² in helping in serving meals. The Director of Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center comes to serve with us. The founder of Neighbor’s Fork, an Oklahoma nonprofit that serves free meals, has joined FMS² to help prepare and serve our meals. Most recently, Kind at Heart, a local nonprofit that provides services to the local elderly, is now delivering our free meals to the elderly in the Siloam Springs area. What a true blessing to our elderly!! God is moving!! What a great community!!

    • July Board Meeting

      July 12, 2024  

      The Food Trailer committee reported out that had for an option for financing. Sam Campbell will be looking used food trailers.

      It was decided to adopt the following schedule for serving events at The Word of Life Ministries: July 22, August 5, August 19, September 9, September 23, and October 7.

      Bill and Deb Medley will provide menus, the associated food ingredients and costs to help us determine the best quality meals for our friends that we serve. Sam Campbell proposed to meet with local Fire Departments to offer FMS² as a partner to bring food to the firemen when there is an extended emergency.

    • June Board Meeting

      June 21, 2024  

      This was FMS²’s first Board Meeting. Thank You to Bill and Deb Medley for allowing us to meet at Cellar Creekside Restaurant. Being the first meeting, there was a large list of Action Items assigned to report out on at the next meeting. Motion was made and approved to meet monthly until further notice. There is a large need to fight food insecurity and we have to keep moving forward. The Board recognizes that we are serving a great need in fighting food security. After a discussion concerning some of the obstacles we are facing, a motion was approved to create a “Food Trailer Committee.” The members of this committee will research the feasibility of securing a used food trailer that will meet our needs. The committee will research the ability to secure financing and options for fund raising.

    • Hand to Hand application approved

      June 12, 2024  

      Feed My Sheep Squared submitted a partner application with Hand 2 Hand Food Pantry, in Alma, Arkansas, to be able to source quality food ingredients at discounted pricing. The application was approved. Dan and Kathy Henson toured the Hand 2 Hand facility and meet Mariann Yates. This is going to be a great connection.

    • FMS² first purchase at Hand 2 Hand

      Mariann Yates, with Hand 2 Hand Food Pantry, helped us with our first purchase. Their warehouses are huge. Everyone was very helpful and caring.

    • Nonprofit Workshop

      May 23, 2024  

      Dan and kathy Henson attended the River Valley Non Profit Workshop. This was a great workshop to network with other nonprofits and food banks. We connected with a regional grant writer that is willing to help us write grants. There was a great presentation of soliciting donations. We plan to attend next year.

    • FMS² purchase a Cargo Trailer

      May 16, 2023  

      After serving at numerous events we have out grown the back of our pickups and Kathy's SUV. Because a generous donation from Greg and Mendi Drollinger we were able to purchase an enclosed cargo trailer. Now we are completely mobile and agile!! Everything we need is stored in the cargo trailer. Now we can even respond to crises too.
